For the first time, Samsung has formally validated the Exynos 2500 chip. During its results call, the South Korean company revealed the 3nm chip’s name. This will be the second 3nm chip from the business, following the announcement of the Exynos W1000 earlier this month.

Samsung will probably use the Exynos 2500 in a few Galaxy S25 series devices. For the first time, Samsung released the Exynos 2500 name. In its financial results release for Q2 2024, the business referred to the chip.

It was disclosed that its System LSI division, which creates smartphone CPUs and camera sensors, is concentrating on ensuring that it can provide a consistent supply of the Exynos 2500 for “flagship products.”

The market has responded favorably to its first 3nm chip, the Exynos W1000. Thus, the business appears certain that performance and efficiency problems won’t arise with its second 3nm device, which is produced using its second-generation GAA method.

In most markets, Samsung is anticipated to employ the Exynos 2500 chip in the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25+, however, in China and certain North American markets (USA), the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 may be utilized. However, the business might just use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 in the Galaxy S25 Ultra.

Some reports state that the Exynos 2500 has a 10-core CPU with three Cortex-A730 cores clocked at 2.3–2.5GHz, two Cortex-A730 cores clocked significantly lower, four Cortex-A520 cores, and one Cortex-X5 core clocked at 3.2GHz. Additionally, Samsung’s proprietary Xclipse 950 GPU—which is built on AMD’s RDNA3 architecture—might be included.

Reports are circulating that Samsung’s Exynos 2500 will eventually be able to match the power efficiency of Snapdragon processors. Samsung might have a winner on its hands if that is accurate.
