Another exciting thing about this feature is that One UI users can create specific function shortcuts on the Samsung device’s home screen. The quick access shortcut enables users to quickly access the specific function without navigating through multiple layers.
For example: Earlier, to capture selfies users needed to open the camera app and then switch it to the photo mood to click selfie which is now reduced users just need to hold the camera app, and the pop-up menu will display functions within the camera app (like a camera in selfie mode or starts video recording) to open.
Steps to create Quick access shortcuts
Quick Access shortcut allows users to access files, folders, and apps faster. Users have to tap or hold on to the app shortcut, once the pop-up menu appears select one of the desirable functions from the menu then drag and drop it to the desired location to create the shortcut.
Some app functions shortcut examples are:
- Subscription tab- Youtube
- Start stopwatch – Clock
- Payment card – Samsung wallet
- Video shoot – Camera
- Update app – Galaxy Store
Moreover, only a few apps will have a hidden pop-up menu with additional functions. Names of selected apps are not clear users have to manually hold the shortcuts of each app to figure it out.
