Honor Magic V3 takes on Galaxy Z Fold 6
When folded, Honor’s new Magic V3 measures 9.2mm (not including the camera bump). When opened the 7.92-inch primary screen becomes even thinner, measuring 4.35mm. Oh, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 with UDC has an obvious camera hole on the inner display after years of use.
The Chinese vendor managed to make a new foldable thinner with a 2.84mm thick hinge. Since the frame is made of 7-series aluminum alloy, it won’t break until 500,000 folds. These are the most interesting features that make it better than its counterparts.
The Magic V3 weighs only 226 grams, while Samsung has reduced the weight of the Z Fold 6 to 239 grams. In addition, Honor has given the Magic V3 IPX8 water resistance, making it the first device in the series with official water ingress protection.
Although Honor’s Magic V3 has an advantage over the Galaxy Z Fold 6, it still has a 4400mAh battery. It has a 5150mAh silicon-carbon battery that can be charged at 50W wireless and 66W wired. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, which offers strong performance and affordability, is used in both smartphones.
The 6.43-inch LTPO cover screen of the Honor Magic V3 has an FHD+ resolution. In addition, it has a peak brightness rating of 2,500 nits and allows pen input. Although the Z Fold 6 also supports S Pen input but on the inner panel, it only works with the pen made specifically by Samsung.
The Magic V3’s optics include a 40MP ultrawide camera, a 50MP periscope with 3.5x optical zoom, and a 50MP main camera with OIS. There’s also a 20MP front-facing camera on the cover and primary screen. It doesn’t have the third-generation under-display camera seen on the Galaxy Fold.
