Yesterday, Samsung was supposed to release the One UI 7.0 beta update, which is based on Android 15, but that didn’t happen. We may have to wait a few weeks before receiving the next major version of One UI, as there seems to be a delay on Samsung’s end. It’s currently anticipated that the One UI 7.0 beta update will launch in August 2024.
Based on the information we have obtained, the One UI 7.0 beta update is scheduled for release during the third week of August 2024. The One UI 6.1.1 upgrade, which was supposed to be issued for tablets, some high-end phones, and older foldable phones, has caused a delay in the distribution.
First to receive the One UI 7.0 beta upgrade are the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra. It may debut initially in South Korea: the USA, the UK, Germany, and India. China may receive the update as well, but only a few days after it was first made available. Additionally, Samsung might make the One UI 7.0 Beta Program available for more antiquated high-end smartphones like the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra. Whether it will be opened to accommodate foldable phones is still to be determined.
Samsung is introducing significant design changes with One UI 7.0, some of which have surfaced in leaks in recent days. The Quick Settings and Notifications tabs comprise the redesigned Quick Panel. The notifications have been rounded off. Additionally, the lock screen layout has been modified to include thicker lock screen shortcuts and a pop-up that indicates the battery charging status.
One-handed use is enhanced by the addition of a search bar (Finder) to the bottom of the app drawer. Additionally, it looks like Samsung updated the icons for a number of its standard apps, such as Samsung Internet, Camera, Clock, Contacts, Gallery, and Phone. Better Material You theming may be found on the new icons.
