Plus, Samsung has extended its long-term update support to more devices. Here’s our list of every device covered under Samsung seven year software update support.

In addition to offering extended One UI or Android OS upgrades, Samsung also promises to provide seven years of security updates to protect eligible Galaxy devices. Protected by Samsung Knox, security updates for Samsung devices provide end-to-end protection against potential security threats.

Previously, Samsung only provided fourth-generation OS updates, but then the company updated its policy so that Galaxy users can enjoy the latest mobile experience for a longer period.

Samsung’s seven generations of One UI (Android OS) and seven year security software update policy currently apply simultaneously to Samsung Galaxy S series and Z series smartphones.

Yes, the list is short right now, as Samsung has not extended firmware support for devices launched before the Galaxy S24 series to seven years, which is disappointing. Also, the list will get longer and it is expected that the company will add some premium mid-range devices as well.
