The Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 runs on Android 14-based One UI 6.1.1. It has the latest AI features and made improvements in the previous one launched in the Galaxy S24 series to enhance user experience and device performance. Some of the impressive AI features of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 are also coming in the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold 5, and Galaxy Z Flip 5 foldable.
To our surprise The Galaxy Z Fold 6 does support “Always On Display AOD wallpapers” but it on certain conditions. It only works on the cover screen, like it used to work on previous Fold 6 models. So, AOD wallpaper support is also restricted to the cover screen.
Now as we talk about the Galaxy Z Flip 6, does support but in a complicated manner. Users can see the AOD wallpaper on the cover screen but only for five seconds at a time.
This happens because Flip 6 supports AOD wallpapers only when Always On Display is set to the Tap to Show setting. The Tap to Show Setting is set by default on all Galaxy devices, users need to tap the screen to see AOD wallpaper. It automatically, turns off AOD after a few seconds, so the wallpaper is only visible for a few seconds.
If AOD is set to be always active or scheduled to turn on at specific times, Flip 6 uses the traditional implementation. You will only see the time, date, and notification icons on an otherwise fully dark display.
