Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5, Flip 5 get new firmware, after One UI 6.1 update

Following the release of the One UI 6.1, Samsung has begun a new firmware update for the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 smartphones with May 2024 security patch. The software improves the overall stability of these devices to ensure a more reliable and consistent performance for users.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 smartphones are getting the May 2024 update based on One UI 6.1 with PDA version F946BXXS2CXE2. The update is currently rolling out for the Galaxy Z Fold 5 in India and the Galaxy Z Flip 5 in Europe and the USA and the company will soon make it available for all models.

The latest update may fix some of the issues that users faced in the One UI 6.1 update. Furthermore, the firmware updates many stock apps to the latest available version so that users can enjoy new features and enhancements.

As per the official changelog Samsung published for the May 2024 security patch at the beginning of the month, several fixes are included in the release. 33 of those vulnerabilities fixes are related to Google’s software and the remaining 25 are Galaxy-specific issues and vulnerabilities.

To install the update, users will have to download a package of about 500MB. To manually check for software updates, head to your phone’s Settings. At the bottom you will see the Software Update section, just open it. If your Galaxy brings a new OTA then inside the submenu, you have to press the Download and Install button.
