Worldwide use of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 is possible for the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra. In October of this year, Qualcomm will formally unveil its flagship chipset for the upcoming generation. The A17 Pro SoC, manufactured by TSMC using a 3nm technology, powers Apple’s iPhone 15 Pro models. The new Snapdragon’s benchmark results have surfaced ahead of launch. The results indicate that the Galaxy S25 Ultra will have outstanding performance. In terms of performance, it would assist Samsung in defeating Apple’s impending iPhone 16 Pro Max.
Most of the forthcoming Android flagships will likely employ the upcoming CPU. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 from Qualcomm will be produced using a 3nm process. This will be the first time a 3nm processor is used in an Android phone.
Geekbench 6 gave the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 (not found on the Galaxy S25 Ultra) 2,884 points for the single-core test and 8,840 points for the multi-core test. The prototype saw such a remarkable performance improvement when the processor and 12GB of RAM were combined. Samsung is anticipated to include 16GB of RAM in the Galaxy S25 Ultra. In comparison to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, the initial scores of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 are already 35% better in the single-core test and 30% better in the multi-core test.
Installing an extra 4GB of RAM might improve performance even more. Expect a respectable increase in CPU speed with 16GB of RAM and software that is optimized. Additionally, Qualcomm will continue to work on enhancements to boost overall performance.
Two powerful Oryon CPU cores operating at 4.09GHz or higher and six energy-efficient CPU cores operating at 2.78GHz are reportedly used in Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon processor. It might have an Adreno 830 GPU for graphics, which would offer cutting-edge gaming capabilities.
In terms of GPU performance, Samsung’s S24 Ultra already outperforms the iPhone 15 Pro Max. The graphics processor is still going to outperform Apple’s next chipset. Therefore, there’s a strong possibility that CPU performance will surpass the iPhone this year.
