Samsung has pushed a new update with the June 2024 security patch for Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra smartphones. The update is available in the US to some carrier-locked units and in Europe and the company will expand it to more countries soon.

The Galaxy Note 20, Samsung’s last Note-branded smartphone, continues to receive regular security updates nearly four years after its launch. Now, the June 2024 security patch fixes 59 security issues.

Galaxy Note 20 gets June 2024 update

The software update that brings the June 2024 security patch to the carrier-locked version of the  Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra for the US to some carrier-locked units and in Europe, changes the phone’s firmware version ending with HFX1.

The latest security patch includes critical fixes for vulnerabilities identified by Google and Samsung, addressing a total of 37 high-level CVEs, as well as 22 SVE items. These address various issues, including those affecting the grid image display, battery statistics services, call verification, the Samsung Dialer app, and more.

The Korean firm will roll out security fix updates for the Galaxy Note 20 series for at least a year, just like it did for the Galaxy S20 series launched the same year. Nevertheless, the commonness of updates will slow down later this year as the phones complete four years in the market.

Users can check and install the update through Settings >> Software Update >> Download and install. If the firmware is available, you can download and install it to get the benefits of enhanced security.
