For One UI smartphones, Samsung releases an enhanced Data Security protection function. This new feature, which is similar to the Privacy Sharing function, protects your personal data so you may share data securely and worry-free.
With the Galaxy S24 series, the Enhanced Data Protection feature will be accessible with One UI. The security of your data kept in Samsung Cloud is improved by this function. The model and software version of your device determines whether this feature is available.
One UI: Enhanced data security protection feature
Your data is protected by end-to-end encryption (E2EE) using this security feature. This indicates that your data is encrypted both on your device and during storage and transmission between devices, as well as during upload to Samsung Cloud.
Since the feature increases data security, only the user may decode and read this data once it has been encrypted. It guarantees that your data is safe and confidential even in the event of a server hack or account information leakage.
Samsung is unable to read the encrypted data since it can only be accessible on devices that have Enhanced Data Protection turned on.
How to enable it?
You only need to do a few actions to enable the Enhanced Data Protection option. Launch the Samsung Cloud app, then select Settings > Enhanced Data Protection by tapping the More symbol in the upper right corner. Now, you have the option of encrypting your synced data or backup data.
By opening the Settings app, selecting Security and Privacy, and then choosing More Security Settings, you can also activate this feature. Select Enhanced Data Protection from there.
You will be prompted to produce a recovery code in order to activate this functionality. This code should be written down and stored in a safe location. This code will assist you in getting your data back if your Samsung smartphone is stolen or misplaced.
