Samsung is pushing out an upgrade that doubles the daily file-sharing limit when files are shared using links, QR codes, or contacts, just a few months after the company introduced the new Quick Share system to its Galaxy smartphones and tablets.
The Quick Share app on Galaxy phones and tablets has received an update (13.6.51.13) from Samsung, as reported by @theonecid. When files are shared using links or QR codes, the daily file-sharing limit is doubled from 5GB to 10 GB. This higher restriction is also for files that are shared directly with contacts.
Sharing files with users of iPhones or any other platform is made possible by this. By displaying two lines of the device name, the latest update also enhances device identification for devices that are close by. When files are received, it also shows the overall file size in the incoming pop-up window.
The Quick Share app is available for download from the Galaxy Store in its updated version. It’s not yet accessible to everyone, though. Samsung may roll out the update over the course of the next few days for everyone.
Samsung’s wireless file-sharing solution via Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi Direct is called Quick Share. Samsung then included file sharing via QR codes and temporary URLs. In an effort to create consistency between the ChromeOS and Android ecosystems, Google integrated Android’s Nearby Share system with Samsung’s Quick Share system earlier this year.
Quick Share has replaced Nearby Share on all Android smartphones and tablets, and it has also been redesigned to Quick Share on Windows.
