WhatsApp is developing a new feature that would facilitate users’ ability to respond to messages. Users will soon be able to respond to messages on WhatsApp by double-tap reactions feature thanks to this new functionality. Currently, the Android beta version has this capability.
With the most recent beta version of WhatsApp for Android, users can double-tap their response to a message. The purpose of this double-tap reaction is to speed up your ability to respond or express your emotions in a chat. To send a heart emoji, double-tap on a message rather than activating a reaction choice. You can still access the reply menu and select an alternative emoji if you’d prefer.
Prior to this, in version 2.24.11.16, WhatsApp added a media reaction shortcut that let users respond to images, videos, and GIFs right from the media viewer.
With the WhatsApp 2.24.16.7 Beta update, they are now going one step further by enabling users to respond to any message with a single double-tap. The Double Tap Reaction feature cannot currently be disabled, which could result in unintentional reactions.
We will update you if WhatsApp eventually adds an option to disable it. Notably, not everyone has access to the feature yet, but it will be made available in a later update. It is presently being developed by the corporation, and all beta users will soon get access to it.
