Samsung is all set to unveil the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Galaxy Z Fold 6 at the Galaxy Unpacked event in Paris on July 10. The company has also already opened pre-orders for the two devices in India, A previously leaked Galaxy Z Flip 6 specs sheet reveals an IPS cover screen instead of AMOLED. This has raised serious concerns over Samsung’s decision to downsize its flagship phone in such a disappointing way. Now a report that Galaxy Z Flip 6 might feature an AMOLED cover screen. similar to Z Flip 5.
Significantly removing the AMOLED cover screen from the Galaxy Z Flip 6, Samsung is not lowering its quality. According to SamMobile, the upcoming Flip phone from the firm will not include an IPS LCD. Instead, it is anticipated to have a panel with the same size and resolution as the Galaxy Z Flip 5.
The Z Flip 5 has a 60Hz refresh rate and a 3.4-inch folder-shaped cover display. There was earlier speculation that the cover panel might have a faster refresh rate, however, this doesn’t appear to be the case. It’s possible that Samsung saved this update for the next Flip phone.
However, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 will provide significant improvements in other areas. It is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, has 8GB and 12GB of RAM, a 50-megapixel primary rear camera, and a 4,000 mAh battery (300 mAh more than the Flip 5).
The leak also reveals that both phones will incorporate Samsung’s Galaxy AI features, including Circle to Search and Interpreter Mode. The Z Flip 6 will have an optimized Chat Assist feature for its cover screen, facilitating easier message replies.
