Google is working on Android 15 for release later this year, which includes several new features, one of them being Instant Hotspot, and fresh reports say it will not come to Samsung Galaxy devices. However, Samsung’s One UI already has something similar to Google’s Instant Hotspot, with a feature called Auto Hotspot that works pretty much the same as Instant Hotspot.
However, Samsung’s Auto Hotspot only works with Galaxy devices, but not with any Android tablets and Chromebooks.
Google just released an Android feature drop yesterday with a new feature called Instant Hotspot, which simplifies the way a device connects to the internet. As per the report (Via), Google officially announced that the Instant Hotspot feature will not be available on Samsung devices.
Android’s new Instant Hotspot feature helps Android tablets and Chromebooks connect to the phone’s hotspot with just a single tap, simplifying the process of sharing a mobile data connection. Previously, users had to manually activate the hotspot, search for it on their device, and enter the password to connect.

Additionally, the Instant Hotspot feature is part of the new cross-device services module in Play Services and works on phones running Android 11 or newer, but, notably, Samsung devices are excluded from it, which offers a seamless experience similar to Apple’s Continuity.
While the exact reason for Samsung’s exclusion is not revealed, Samsung may have decided not to participate in order to promote its connectivity feature.
